Consists of a high-frequency generator that produces an ultrasonic wave. In addition to thermal changes, the vibration of the tissues appears to have effects which are generally considered to be non thermal in nature, though, as with other modalities there must be a thermal component however small. This will lead to an increase of blood circulation around the tissue promoting the healing.
